I am  Saumya Joshi. I want to share my travel memories with you.

Two months back I visited the Somnath temple and Diu along with my parents and our family friends. We stayed for a day at Somnath and for a day at Diu.

The Somnath temple is located at Veraval, Gujarat. Somnath is one of the 182 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Gujarat state in India. Lord Shiva’s first ever Jyotirlinga is there at Somnath temple, which was established by Lord Chandra (Som) and thus it is known as Somnath Mahadev.

We performed “Rudrabhishek Puja “there with the help of Priest of the temple. We enjoyed drinking famous coconut water. At the time of late evening we all sat together on the seashore and enjoyed the breeze and waves of the sea. Also there is a big market near the sea shore from where I bought conch earrings, bracelets and necklaces. My mother purchased decorative hangings of conch and mirror. We also enjoyed Laser light and sound show in the evening.

Next day we went to Diu. Diu is a coastal town on the eastern end of Diu Island. A bridge connects the island to the state to Gujarat. It is one of the union territories of India.

At Diu we saw a beautiful church & enjoyed  doing shopping. We enjoyed playing at Nagoa beach.

The Diu fort is the most famous place to visit, but we missed it due to lack of time.

I enjoyed  my trip very much.
