KABIRIANS WEAVE THE MAGIC OF POETRY!!
Recitation is a very important and effective mode of learning a language and appreciating a piece of literature. Taking this into consideration, St. Kabir School gave an opportunity to the children to exhibit their talent and confidence by means of a mega event named ‘SPANDAN’. It an inter-branch English poetry recitation competition for the students of class VI – IX, which was conducted on 22nd January, 2022. The entire event was conducted live via YouTube. SPANDAN is a part of the ‘Heerakotsav’ project, which celebrates India’s resilience during the freedom struggle.
In the month of November/December, all the branches conducted an inter-class poetry recitation competition individually. The winners further participated for SPANDAN. Each standard was given a distinct theme based on which they had to recite their poems. The core theme of the recitation was ‘struggle’. 6th standard students expressed ‘struggle in environment’ through their poetry, 7th standard students expressed ‘struggle of nations’, 8th standard expressed ‘struggle as a satire’, and last but not the least, 9th standard expressed ‘struggle in the society’ through their poetry. The children came up with brilliant poems having a lot of diversities and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm…
There were four esteemed judges invited for this event. Dr. Shirish Kashikar, Director of national institute of mass communication and Journalism, Ahmedabad, who has a career in Journalism and academic spanning over 23 years. Mrs Gargi Nandi, a film and TV actress, a script writer and a teaching faculty at a film school. Mrs Sadhana kaikini, A soft skill and life skill consultant, also she is the founder President of Buoyancee, an institute instrumental in conducting activity based life skill training programs. Ms Sarita K Chamaria, A Freelance writer, Founder member and Joint editor of Trunicle. The judges were awestruck with the level of confidence with which the participants recited.
St. Kabir School, is determined to conduct SPANDAN every year with an aim to bring out the best out of their students!
