Oxford Big Read competition is an initiative from Oxford University Press that has been developing and encouraging a love for reading in primary and secondary school students in India. In the competition, primary and secondary school students are required to read Oxford University Press (OUP) supplementary readers and do different age-wise activities based on the levels they belong to.
Tuhina submitted a review on the book ‘The Railway Children’ by Edith Nesbit which is a heart warming story about three young children who learn to deal with moral issues like coping with hard times, friendship, empathy and courage. Writing a book review helps students to engage critically with the text, evaluate it and improve their own reading , writing and thinking skills.
The Oxford Big Read contest is aimed at encouraging young children to enrich their lives by embarking on a life-long journey as avid readers.
