The History of the World’s Largest Democracy is a book by Indian historian Ramachandra Guha , first published by Harper Collins in August 2007.

The book covers the history of India after it gained independence from the British in 1947.

Ramachandra  Guha is an indispensable master in telling  stories. This book covers the events and the struggles which India faced between 1947 – 1999, which tells us that it is the masterpiece book of modern history .

 The most interesting part about this book is that the concept of the book as many people think that the Indian History ends after independence and partition but this book will tell them that there is a history even after independence and the main journey , main struggles of India have started after the independence only . Many readers have also found this book boring as it is a detailed version of the events that happened in  the past.

 This book will be helpful to the  people who don’t know much about India and Indian history.   And will give them to get an Idea about what happened in  the past .
