ST. KABIR SCHOOL, NARANPURA GETS ENLIGHTENED WITH  THE GANDHIAN PHILOSOPHY

Students of grade 7th of St. Kabir School, Naranpura branch went to the Dandi Kutir situated in the mahatma Mandir Complex in Gandhinagar. They took the tour at Dandi Kutir for over two hours and learnt a great deal about the life of the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The various articles, pictures, the state of the art audio and visual aids, movies exhibited there in chronological order proved to be really effective in developing the sense of respect and honour for Mahatma Gandhi, fondly referred to as ‘Bapu’ by all the Indians. The students learnt how well he overcame all the weaknesses of his life and transformed into a man of strong character and wisdom. They also learnt about the various movements started by Gandhiji and his friends and followers with determination and perseverance to win freedom for India. The students were impressed to know that the only weapons used by Gandhiji in this entire freedom struggle were ‘Truth’ and ‘Nonviolence’. They got to know how well he influenced and persuaded even the women to participate in these movements. The students understood that moral courage is the ultimate weapon to fight the problems in life and build up a strong nation. The journey through the life of the Mahatma beautifully depicted at Dandi Kutir proved to be a brilliant learning opportunity for the students.
