ST. KABIR DEFEATS HIRAMANI SCHOOL

Backed by impressive bowling from the side, Rahul Ahuja and Shekhar Singh scored centuries each as St Kabir School (SKS) beat Hiramani by virtue of first innings lead in the under-19 multi-day Diwan Ballubhai School Tournament. At Gujarat College ‘A’ ground, Hiramani struggled after electing to bat. Riding on Prem Thakor’s cautious 88-ball 50, followed by Vidit Gandhi’s 40-ball 39, Hiramani managed to post 216 in 52.2 overs.

For SKS, Kavish Panchal took three wickets for 69 while Rahul Jain and Rahul Ahuja picked two apiece. In their first innings, Rahul and Shekhar led from the front. Rahul scored a brilliant 164-ball 124 while Shekhar made a cautious 184-ball 111. Manan Hingrajiya too added a 68-ball 42 as SKS scored 423/8 in 101.1 overs. For Hiramani, Dharmik Mistry was the pick of lot with three wickets while Kush Jadawala bagged two. Hiramani were restricted to 71/2 in 13 overs at the end of day’s play as St Kabir School (SKS) were declared winners.
