Multi-disciplinary presentation of class 7 St. Kabir School (Drive in old branch)

Theme: Incredible India

The multi-disciplinary project presentation by the students of class 7 showcased the different facets of our Incredible India. The presentation began with a puppet show in Hindi. The topic covered was various Indian cuisines which have played a major role in uniting all the Indians. Muhavre (idioms) based on food items were part of the presentation. A video on tips for healthy eating by Sanjeev Kapoor was shown. The puppet dance on the popular song ‘Bol ri katputli….’ added spice to the show wherein the students were dressed up as puppets from different states in their traditional dress. The objective was to create awareness on healthy eating and be proud of the rich Indian cuisine; a perfect example of unity in diversity.

The Hindi M.D. presentation was followed by Social studies M.D. presentation. The rich heritage of Ahmedabad was highlighted. Ahmedabad has been declared as the UNO World Heritage City and has brought India on the world map as a city with rich history and heritage. The Mughal Empire – The Badshahs, the monuments, the art and culture which had also influenced India were shown through skit and PowerPoint presentations. Beautiful pictures and presentations of Amazon and Ganga Brahmaputra Basin, hot and cold desert enriched the presentation. Advertisements which are an integral part of our lives through various media like newspaper, radio and television were enacted beautifully. Interestingly the advertisements too connect all the Indians and bring them to a common platform, bringing unity in diversity again.

Maths M.D. presentation also tried to incorporate activities and sensitize children to love and respect our country. Through the concept of area and perimeter the students explained the ratio of the length and breadth of our national flag – tricolor. Activities using Ramanujan kits, skit, quiz involving parents, equation song and the geometrical props made the presentation very lively and creative. Children could understand practical aspects of mathematical concepts in day today life, easy and play away method of solving equations, understood geometry by making and using 2D figures in their presentation.

Last but not the least the Multi-disciplinary project presentation imbibed various life skills like teamwork, time management, cooperation, discipline, confidence, creativity and originality which are the most important aspects of life. The aim of education is to unlock the child’s hidden potentials and the M.D. presentation gives such an outlet to the teachers and students alike.
