LEARNING BEYOND CLASSROOM

As they say,”Not all classrooms have walls.” So on the 11th September 2019 students of St .Kabir (Naranpura) from Std 8th and 9th visited the Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Center, to get a hands on experience and understanding of the topics they learn theoretically on everyday basis.

While the purpose of these trips is essentially to educate, they are also a fun experience for everyone involved. Going on an Educational trip means more than simply leaving the school grounds. Educational trips always have a major educational element, but the impact of Educational trips can further the learning for life.

Entering the center the students were awestruck by seeing so many different varieties of puzzles and models around. They were then taken to the auditorium and shown how to solve some mathematical problems practically. Students were taught Newton’s three laws of motion with the help of Newton’s cradle and summation of basic numbers in a plain sailing and pragmatic way so that the students would never have to cram it up.

Besides this a super engrossing as well as informative video about the universe formation was also shown to the students … which piqued the curiosity of many.

The trip finally ended with the students getting the chance to explore their areas of interest by trying to solve mind-boggling puzzles in the Discovery hall. It was really fascinating.. The students enjoyed it to the fullest.

At last, we should always remember that “Learning is always more effective when it is active rather than a passive process.”
