Air Pollution – A simple introduction to its causes , effects and remedies

A Very informative topic about Air pollution was discussed in a session taken up by Dr. Ankita and Mr Prakash , from AMC , at St. Kabir School Naranpura, on 21st February 2019 which was attended by students of STD- VIII and IX. It was all about how day by day fresh air in the environment is getting polluted and how polluted air causes health problems, diseases and death, the actions you can take to reduce air pollution etc.

Air Pollution is one of the main environment issues nowadays. There are many reasons behind this increasing air pollution. Most of the air pollution is caused by the automobiles, power plants, transport means, industrialization and growing cities. All the pollutants come in contact with the atmosphere, destroying ozone layer and calling harmful rays to the earth. Breathing polluted air puts us at a higher risk of asthma and other respiratory diseases. In order to reduce the level of air pollution we should not cut trees, use public transport, avoid spray cans, and many activities in favor to reduce the effects of air pollution. Even we should load up with powerful nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin E to combat the effects of Air Pollution.

Last but not the least, students were made familiar with India’s First air quality checking mobile app SAFAR-Air. The app will provide current data and forecast for air quality in the user current location. It will aid in enhancing the awareness of air pollution and also aid the policy makers to adopt practical city level measures to address air pollution.
